As always, hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
Today's topic is: Top Ten Books You Want to Read but Don't Own Yet.
Well - I get my books from the library.
So I will modify this topic to: Top Ten Books I Will Buy on My Next Bookstore Trip. :-)
I have probably read all of them, which is why they are on this list. I only purchase books when I am sure they will make a valuable addition to my bookshelves.
1. The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien.
2. The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
3. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
4. The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
5. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
6. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier
7. Some H. G. Wells!
I'm sure there are a bunch more but my brain is filled with college right now... Speaking of college - I've got some homework to do (oh, phooey!) so I've got to scamper off.
I have questions for YOU! I want to hear your answers - share in the comments!
Firstly, do you buy books or borrow them from the library - or do you access your literature in yet a third way?
And what are some books that you think EVERY personal library should have?
~Sophia
There are some great books on your list! You have definitely got to read the Lord of the Rings!
ReplyDeleteAnswers to your questions
1) I have recently started buying books as I've come to the realization that I won't be at home for forever so I had better start accumulating my own library. However, I get a lot of books from the library though.
2) Books I think every personal library should have? Some Jane Austen and Dickens, a Bible, some ancient classics, Tolkien, Chronicles of Narnia, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables and the like. :)

Let me assure you - I have MOST DEFINITELY read LOTR. Twice. And seen the movies. Twice.
DeleteThere.
And oh, Dickens! How could I have forgotten him!
The Count of Monte Cristo is long, but it's a great story. I want to read Code Name Verity too, it sounds so good.
ReplyDeleteMonte Cristo is my sister's favorite and she demands that it be put on as many of my TTTs as possible. :)
DeleteCode Name Verity will blow your mind! It will be a classic in the future, just watch.
