About This Blog

This blog is mostly about books - writing them, reading them, acquiring them...

Sometimes, some other things will slip through, but those other things probably have some connection to books as well. Books are kind of a big deal in my life.

Oh and sorry, I am NOT currently accepting books for review. I've a big enough TBR pile as it is... :-/

About this blog's title...

For those of you who don't know, the immortal question "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" originated in Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The Mad Hatter poses this riddle, but no one has the slightest idea of what the answer is.
But you see, Carroll did not give the riddle an answer. So what is the answer? In a preface to a later edition, he gives this afterthought: "Because it can produce a few notes, tho they are very flat; and it is nevar put with the wrong end in front!" Notice the pun (though it was never printed, as the editors thought it only a spelling error): nevar  is raven backwards.
But there have been many different answers thought up by ingenious fans, including "Because they both have inky quills," and "Because Poe wrote on both."

So that is the background history of this blog's title.
