Today's topic is Top Ten Books that I have recently added to my TBR.
I'm going to interpret "recently" as "within the last month," because that sounds reasonable.
I know I usually write a few sentences about why these books made it onto my TTT this week, but for the following books, the reasons are usually, "The synopsis sounds interesting," "I've read a lot of good reviews," "The cover is pure magic" (no shame), or a combination of these three. And a couple of these are books that I SHOULD have read a long time ago, and I'm just incapable of staying on top of bookish trends. (Excuse: I am at heart a classics lover.)
So gaze at the beautiful covers and click them to go to Goodreads and read the beautiful synopses.
1. Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed
2. The Girl at Midnight by Melissa Grey
3. The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
4. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
5. The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
6. Black Dove, White Raven by Elizabeth Wein
7. A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
(I think both covers of this one are glorious.)
8. Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver
9. Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
(I like that second cover better... It's super cool.)
10. The Wave by Morton Rhue

My TTT!
Oh I'm glad to know that they're excellent! I'm super excited to read them :-)
DeleteSo excited for The Girl at Midnight. A Darker Shade of Magic is actually on my list too! And The Winner's Curse is a book I haven't read yet either but really want to get to. I actually met Gabrielle Zevin at an event once and she read some excerpts from The Storied Life of A.J. Fickry. Probably the only author I'll ever see in Wisconsin, haha.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
How far are you from Chicago? You should come down sometime. We've got a nice assortment of authors visiting us and the surrounding suburbs. :-)
DeleteNEVER make excuses for being a classics lover! ;)

Oh, I'm not making excuses FOR being a classics lover. I am using my classics AS the excuse. There is a delicate difference. :P
DeleteI want to read Mortal Instruments but I'm afraid I haven't yet. We'll see what happens when I get there! I hope you enjoy all these books (I haven't heard much about any of them, so if any rock, you'll have to share them).
ReplyDeleteI will definitely share! This TTT was kind of weird because it was my first without any classics on it. O_o
DeleteVANISHING GIRLS IS REALLY AWESOME. ohhh, I want to read A Darker Shade of Magic SO BADLY. I wish my library had it though, because I'm not 100% sure I'll like it and I really really want to like it. XD Vicious sounds epic too... And one day I shall read a Sanderson book. ONE DAY. (They're always huge though, aren't they?! Scary.)
