Yeah, that's where I am right now. My family is getting tired of me saying, at least once every day, "I am so DONE with school." But I am! And I still have three weeks to go.
This is my NaNo graph. Sad, huh? |
I need to give myself some extra "free" time in my day so that I don't feel like I am cramming every second of every hour. I'm still doing NaNo, but that has faded away a bit, because whenever I DO have time, I am so tired that I don't want to do something that requires effort. I haven't even been reading lately, because blogging and NaNo has taken up my time. This is NOT GOOD. Reading is what keeps me sane, and my lack of reading may be contributing to my present madness.
My solution: I'm going to disappear from this blog until Thanksgiving weekend. I might even disappear from the internet for a bit. I'll devote free time to NaNo and reading more than I have been, and hopefully feel more relaxed when I have a bit more time on my hands.
The only post you WILL see during this hiatus will be next Tuesday, for my TTT, because the topic next week is Winter TBR, and I really want to write that one. :-)
So - farewell, for now. If all goes according to plan, I will return somewhere around November 29th or 30th, hopefully with a 50,000 word novel written. (Actually, I'm just aiming for 30k, given how this NaNo is going, but 50k would be nice too...)
See you then!

P.S. How is your NaNo going? (if you're doing it)
Enjoy your break! I'm pretty sure the only times when I wasn't desperately looking forward to a holiday from Uni were when the first 2 weeks of every term. But then every holiday, as soon as I had been home for a few days I would be dying to go back.
ReplyDeleteI passed the 25,000 word mark with my NaNo today, which is slightly behind schedule but alas, work has to come before NaNo. I'm hoping I should be able to catch up by the end though! I'm getting to the stage where I'm realising that I'm actually going to have to think about how to start tying things off and bringing certain plot points together rather than just letting the story go off wherever it wants to, which I think means that I might start finding it harder to write. Ah well!
I am SO excited for next semester. I'm just totally OVER my current classes :-)
DeleteYAY 25000! That's so awesome. Keep going! I'm cheering for you! You can do it! :)
I can sympathize with being sick of school! I only have two courses and I wish they'd just disappear. It's not the content ---- I'm enjoying that ------- it's the work. Work, work, work! Is there no course that lets you have time to absorb what you're learning and apply it? Sheesh! But perhaps that part comes later.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy hiatus and see you soon!
Yes exactly - the work. It's so annoying! I'm ready for next semester with fresh content! :-)
DeleteSad to see you go, but finishing NaNo is the most important thing! (and focusing on your last few weeks of study!) Hopefully you'll smash through that word count and get back on track!
ReplyDeleteMy NaNo's going pretty well, although I'm afraid I don't have 25k of words to actually write...I'm no longer following my outline, so all bets are off.
Have a good (internet) holiday!
I will attempt to smash. I will attempt most furiously.
DeleteGood luck with your NaNo!
Best of luck with NaNo! It can be such a huge commitment sometimes. Enjoy your break!
ReplyDeleteThank you! This is my first year doing NaNo AND college, so I think it was just a bit much.
DeleteHmm, funny to see you doing that after my own break. The break has really helped me, even though I'm just at school and not at college. I think NaNo is a thing, that really only works, when you've got the time to do it. I think, I couldn't do real NaNo (writing 50000 letters) without moving to a lonely hut with no internet and no homework to worry about :D
ReplyDeleteSee, I've won NaNo two years in a row, the last two years of highschool. I guess college was just too much, though. :-/
