November // The Month of Madness

Oh this was definitely the month of Madness. Madness of NaNo, Madness of School, Madness of Life in general.

I didn't win NaNoWriMo. But that's okay. I learned things about myself as a writer.

I did go to my first write-in. It wasn't a grand success, but it was fun. I met two lovely ladies.

I began considering booktubing. I don't know if this counts as happening, since it's only in my mind as yet, but I think it would be fun.

I... wrote a paper on immigration and stereotyping? I'm running out of things to say here that are not school related. Winter break can't come soon enough!

Guess what. I read NO BOOKS this month. *faints*

H-how is this even possible? I'm scaring myself. I don't know what's going on. See - madness. Maybe I am really going mad?

I need books to keep me sane. Library - here I come!

Anyway, here are the two Terry Pratchett books I picked up at my church book sale earlier this month:

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want To Reread

I haven't reread books in a while.

Bookish Questions - Classics Club Style!
In which I attempt to answer the Classics Club's 50 questions.

Monday Memories: Winnie The Pooh by A.A. Milne
...with pictures of adorable baby Sophia being read to by her father. :-)

I'm super excited for Christmas, but a close runner-up is December 12, the date when my Winter Break begins. Wheeeee!

How's your month been? What are your plans for December?

~Sophia

  1. November has been crazy (or mad) for me, I didn't win NaNo either. But that was somehow okay, your post on the subject helped a lot; winning isn't everything. ( I only cried a little). This month I plan to grow my blog and buy books!

    1. Aww don't cry! At least you got something written, right? WOOT WOOT

That is exactly what I plan to do this month too! :-)

  2. I think I merely came to reading either, I just read some nonfictions and only one novel. Well, at last something, but less than I'd expected. I think I'll write on in December and just see what I manage to finish.
Also I started the month with inventing a new tag meme... I've tagged you. I wonder which answers you'll give on these questions(read it all carefully, it comes in the end and just ignore my German...): Wander-Tag

  3. I've definitely had months where I haven't managed to get any reading done, especially when school and work start to take up lots of time. I'm so jealous of your secondhand books sales, though - there are never any secondhand Terry Pratchetts in my city, and if there are they get scooped up so quickly you'd never even know they were there to begin with! I did manage to find Hogfather once, though, and I'm definitely thinking of re-reading it before Christmas. :D

    1. Yeah my church has a booksale around October - perfect for the holidays! I feel so bad for you and your lack of secondhand books :-( I would die without booksales.

I've only read three Pratchetts so I'm looking forward to these! Their covers are sort of disturbingly ugly though. :-P

  4. My plans for december are just trying to stay alive. WHY IS IT THE BUSIEST MONTH OF TH EWORLD?? I literally have so much to do. I've like finished only 2 books this month and it's already the 5th. 0.0 I feel so weird. And my TBR is like a mountain of fear at the moment...I really need to go to the library. And horrifyingly return unread books. >.>
Yay for winter break!! My sister is nearly finished school too which is totally exciting! I can rope her into watching copious Sherlock episodes with me. Okay, cut the "copious" since there's only like 9 of them.

    1. Listen - you're ahead of me. Today is the 5th in the US, and I've still read NONE. The fact that my library is under construction AND that my library card is expired may just sort of be part of the reason, though.

YES my sister and I are going to get into Supernatural this winter break. And hey - at least each of the Sherlock episodes is like it's own movie, so it sort of makes up for the non-copiousness of them.

Never mind, it doesn't make up for it.

  5. Yay I'm glad it's almost winter break for you! I remember being in school and counting down the days for winter break... I used to play video games every single day... it was great. :D

    1. This is the first time I won't have homework assignments over winter break. I'm quite excited to just do nothing (i.e. read).

  6. Gah! My winter break starts December 12th as well, and I cannot agree with you more. We should celebrate the fact that ridiculous research papers and finals are not taking up all of our time anymore. Reading for pleasure.. what's that?! I will officially have four weeks to revive my damaged brain cells.. yay! Good luck on your finals girl!

    1. DECEMBER 12 IS THE DAY OF FREEDOM.

I just submitted Paper #1 today, and it's making me feel infinitely better. Good luck on your finals, too!

Book discussions make the world a better place! Write me a comment - I respond to each and every one, I promise. So check back!

(YES! I LOVE TAGS and I do them! So tag away! But no bloggerly awards, though, like the Liebster or the Sisterhood of World Bloggers. Thank you!)
