Freedom has come!

That is how I feel, now that Christmas break is FINALLY HERE.

For the last week (two weeks? Three weeks? Month?) I've been neglectful of this blog and the blogging world in general. (Sowwy.)
But particularly over the last few days I've been going crazy with the madness of finals week. If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen me counting down the days. Also, I sort of went crazy and started talking to myself:

And writing Les Miz parodies:

But - it all ended on Thursday and now I'm free! (For another month.) So in celebration of that, today I went to get a ton of books from the library! Here's my pile:

The Once and Future King (by T.H. White) is for my Arthurian Literature Challenge, and that's the one I'm reading first.

Next, of course, just HAS to be Blue Lily Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, because THERE IT IS STARING AT ME. It is whispering "Come, read me, now!" I am utterly overjoyed that my library had it available.

You see, my local library has been under construction for a while now, and will be until January-ish. A whole ton of books are in storage - available, but not without hassle. There are other libraries in the area (which is where I got TOaFK), but I just want my own library back!

Thankfully, it still has some books available - just the newest ones though. I would like to point out something momentous. A while ago, I wrote about a library trip where it was notable how ALL the books I got were YA. Now, I've progressed from there. Almost all the books I got today were not only YA, but NEW YA. I was looking over the new YA shelf at my library and was rather excited when I realized how many titles I recognized. This is super cool.

Of course, I'm not abandoning classics, but I adore that I am finally feeling comfortable in a new genre! Yippee!

What are some plans for this next month?

Reading ALL THE BOOKS. But that's just a given.

Catching up with blogs I've neglected to read.

Working on some WIP's I've neglected for the Venice NaNo project.

Christmas! (We have a tree and a wreath and lights. Next step is ornaments and decoration!)

Cleaning out my mother's bookshelf to make room for my own books. (Mwahahaha!)

Buying books to fill that bookshelf.

Possibly a vlog? We shall see.

Have you read any of the books I just picked up? What did you think?

  1. Yayy, my holidays started a few weeks ago and I was soooo happy, but now I just don't know what to do with my life... *sigh* it's so hard having this much free time

    1. I cleaned my whole desk off the first day of break, cuz I had nothing to do. But now I have a pile of books from the library, so that's filling up my free time most nicely!

  2. THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING!!!! *flails* I love that book! You will love it too; the ending is tragic and wonderful.
A vlog? I will eagerly await it!
I going to take a plunge into YA as well. There are so many books out there that bloggers I follow love. (I blame you for the Lunar Chronicles!) As of now I could suffocate under the weight of my TBR pile. I'm hoping Christmas will take care of that.

    1. So far I AM loving it! It's WAYY more humorous than I expected - I totally thought it would be a sober Arthurian retelling and then bam there's port and cockney accents and an extremely entertaining Merlin. :-)

I hope Christmas will take care of my TBR pile too, but I'm thinking it may just add to it more. Hey - better too many books than not enough, right?

  3. YES A VLOG YOU PROMISED AND I'M WAITING. Ahhh, yay for BLLB! I'm actually reading it right now! Well. I read the prologue. Omg, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm soooo nervous for it I keep putting of reading it. >.> Heh. That and I've been super busy. I didn't even post yesterday I was so unorganised. What even is this. Christmas brings out the frazzle in me.

    1. Aww, don't worry, just dive in to BLLB - it's not like it's the last one :-P Next year you can worry about putting off the ending and book four. Now THAT will be some frazzle.

  4. Oooh I am so happy you are free! I have exams this week which means I won't be able to be free just quite yet, but Thursday it all ends for me! And a month is a long holiday, so I hope you enjoy it and have a lovely Christmas :) Those books look awesome! I really want to read The Raven Boys series, Jackababy and Trial by Fire! Dripping with envy here xD Four is another one I borrowed from my library too, so I hope you have fun reading :D

    1. My sister ends Thursday too, and we're going to go watch Mockingjay to celebrate! I hope you have a good finals week and break, and get to read ALL THE BOOKS! :-)

  5. HHAHAHAA that Les Miz tweet is my favorite thing ever.

    1. Thank you! *blushes*
... I WAS pretty proud of it. :-)

  6. I felt the same way too. :) Glad that we're both over with those nasty finals... for now that is. ;)

    1. Hey, it's a neverending circle until graduation. Gotta make the most of what we've got! :-)

Book discussions make the world a better place! Write me a comment - I respond to each and every one, I promise. So check back!

(YES! I LOVE TAGS and I do them! So tag away! But no bloggerly awards, though, like the Liebster or the Sisterhood of World Bloggers. Thank you!)
