So shouldn't I read Ender in Exile next then?Sophiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00113180708896008365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675785862152144030.post-60698056925282650532014-05-15T18:22:37.519-05:002014-05-15T18:22:37.519-05:00Speaker For the Dead has to be next. Though the spoiler below does take some of the wind out of it.Lydiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12147682529489245099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675785862152144030.post-31306007203121837212014-05-15T11:11:59.685-05:002014-05-15T11:11:59.685-05:00SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Apparently this is explained in Ender's Shadow.

And yeah, I should have put "saved the world" in quotes. :-)

END OF SPOILER!

As for Ender's age, I agree with you (and your post, which I read). I think that I commend Card for giving us a character who's age is so unconventional, however, Ender's (and a lot of the other kids') actions made me forget how old they really are. So did the age difference really matter that much anyway? I don't know. Still, the attempt is commendable.

Thanks for stopping by!Sophiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00113180708896008365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675785862152144030.post-1725483331481754172014-05-14T22:41:25.762-05:002014-05-14T22:41:25.762-05:00I just finished Ender's Game as well (I'm ...I just finished Ender's Game as well (I'm posting about it tomorrow). I had the opposite reaction from you to Ender's age, but I think that's because I'm a mom.

Spoilers!!! To answer your question - no, I don't think any of the kids knew what was really going on. Also, they didn't save the world. The buggers weren't going to attack again. Once they realized that humans were intelligent, they regretted attacking them. The I. F. put Ender, and all the other children, through all that misery, and tricked them into committing genocide for nothing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675785862152144030.post-29216211298061313042014-05-14T11:06:30.807-05:002014-05-14T11:06:30.807-05:00So you'd advise that I read that one first (al...So you'd advise that I read that one first (along with the rest of the Ender quartet) and save Ender in Exile and the Shadow quartet for after?Sophiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00113180708896008365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2675785862152144030.post-44294764985956217922014-05-14T10:01:53.661-05:002014-05-14T10:01:53.661-05:00The next in the series is Speaker For the Dead.
